Westfield Kotara - The Rooftop
This project involved the installation of control systems for new tenancies at Westfield Kotara Rooftop. The new upgrade included Ten new tenancies, modifications to existing rooftop parking area, new amenities, lift and stairs. The BMS upgrade included Interface of new DEOS controls with existing Trend system via BACnet IP Local controls to all tenancies All Zone K ventilation and smoke exhaust fans managed by DEOS, integrated to existing head end New Lighting systems with DEOS control DEOS head end graphics as a backup to Trend Server.
About
Westfield Kotara is a shopping centre located in the suburb of Kotara in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. It opened in 1965 as Kotara Fair. In 2003 the shopping centre was purchased by the Westfield Group.
The Rooftop offers a wide range of restaurants including Nando's, Grill'd, Noodle Hut and San Churro.
Challenges
To Provide seamless integration to the existing site BMS to provide the end user with a similar user experience to what they currently have - Meet the client's constraints for project implementation to ensure opening deadlines were met with a user-friendly reliable outcome.

The new DEOS BMS was integrated smoothly to the existing Trend system and provides Provides native BACnet hardware which converts the rooftop to an OPEN protocol BMS.
